Reset filters & searchDo I need an account?
No. Collections, templates, photos and notes stay on your device. Managing your collection does not require a CollectorsHub account. Collections are not automatically synchronized to a cloud or other devices. An optional AI connection is separate from collection management.
Can I register for the web app?
Yes. Use “Log in” on collectors-hub.io to register or sign in to your member area. Registration requires your name, email address and password, plus confirmation that you have read the privacy policy. Use the switch inside the card to move between sign-in and registration; without JavaScript, the links open the corresponding page. You can sign out and request a password reset link when needed. The protected starting area is ready; collection management in the browser and syncing with the device app will follow separately. This login does not yet transfer local collections, templates or photos. The current app remains usable without an account. The website follows your system appearance by default; use the half-light, half-dark icon next to the language switch at the top right to cycle through System, Light and Dark with each click. The choice stays in this browser across the website and member area.
Can I back up or move my collection?
Under Settings, export a JSON backup containing templates, collections, items, photos, saved market prices and price history. Save the file at your chosen destination; the temporary copy in the app is not a permanent backup. Import that file on the other device. After validation and explicit confirmation, an import replaces the current local data. Export that data first if you want to keep it. Wait for the completion message. If the file is corrupt or an image cannot be processed, your existing data is retained. Embedded backup photos are processed locally without internet access. CSV files cannot be imported as backups. In the local, unreleased AI extension, a backup cannot grant AI consent on this device. If an import changes the AI provider or AI was previously off, it stays disabled until you consent again.
Where can I download CollectorsHub?
Use the App Store link under “Get the app” on our website to download CollectorsHub for iPhone and iPad. Compatible Macs with Apple silicon run the iPad app; Intel Macs are not supported. CollectorsHub also has Android and web versions. Features, device requirements and availability can vary by platform and installed version. Check the relevant store for availability on your device.
Can I use CollectorsHub offline?
Yes. Collections, templates, photos and notes work offline in the installed app. Saved market prices also remain readable. The web version needs an initial page load and can then work offline using cached files. New catalog and price lookups, AI requests, current FAQ answers, contact requests and downloads need internet access. JSON backups with embedded photos are processed locally.
Why do I see an animation when the app starts?
A short startup scene accompanies local loading when you fully restart the installed app. It does not repeat when navigating between pages or returning from the background. With the device’s Reduce Motion setting, the scene stays still and adds no waiting time after loading. This also applies when you enable the setting during the scene. Unlocking and error messages remain accessible.
Can I add photos to my items?
Yes. Add a photo and notes to an item, then replace or remove the photo later. Saved photos stay local and are included in JSON backups; CSV does not include photos. Open a readable photo at a larger size in the item detail view. Unreadable images are rejected with an error message. An image error during backup import does not replace your existing data. Taking a photo alone does not start an AI request.
Which collections have templates?
The library contains 100 editable default templates, including Pokémon, other trading cards, LEGO, Playmobil, figures, Tonies, BRIO, coins, stamps, records, books, models, technology and art. Combine search with category filters. Create your own templates or copy existing ones; previously customized templates are retained. Template changes apply to every collection using that template. A template requires a name and a main field label. The editor identifies missing required details beside the field. Separate selection values with commas, without empty or duplicate entries. Cancel discards an unsaved draft. Saved custom templates can be deleted when no collection uses them.
Do I have to use AI assistance?
No. Collections, photos, search, templates and backups work without AI. Optional AI features in the installed iOS and Android apps need internet access, your explicit consent and your own supported access. Choose a provider and model in AI settings. Your app shows the available connections: API keys for OpenAI, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity, and an eligible ChatGPT connection for OpenAI. Availability and usage limits depend on the provider and your access. Changing providers requires fresh consent; the app never switches automatically to a different provider or billing access. Credentials stay protected on the device and are not included in backups. API usage may incur charges; a chat subscription does not replace API access. Photo recognition requires a model that supports images. With Perplexity, content may be forwarded to the selected model’s provider; web search is not enabled for these requests. The additional Gemini, Claude and Perplexity API integrations are a local, unreleased extension. No account sign-in is implemented for these three providers; API charges may apply. Perplexity may forward requests to the selected model provider; the app enables no web search.
What data does AI photo recognition send?
Only after your consent and a tap on Recognize with AI are the current photo, your note, the current collection’s AI instructions and the template with its fields sent to your selected AI provider. Taking a photo alone sends nothing. Other photos, collections and items are not sent. Suggestions fill only empty details; you review and save yourself. Photo recognition uses AI, not local text recognition. Errors stay visible in the photo panel, while the photo and entered details remain in the draft. Another attempt starts only when you tap again. Errors never automatically change the provider or billing access.
How does search with an AI description work?
Open Search with AI in the item editor and describe the object. After AI consent is enabled, only Find suggestions sends your description, the current collection’s AI instructions and template fields to the selected provider. An existing photo and other items are not sent. AI suggests possible identifications from model knowledge; these are not live web or catalog results. Check variants and identifying details yourself. Incomplete or invalid answers are not applied. Only your selection fills empty fields, and only Save stores the item.
How do I manage my wish list?
Mark an item as a wish in the editor. Wishes stay in their collection and are counted separately from owned items. Open Wishlist on the collection overview to see wishes across all collections. Set a priority and move a wish into your owned collection later. You can also export the wishlist as CSV.
How do I find items across collections?
Search on the collection overview finds items across collections. It covers names, collections, storage locations, acquisition dates, tags, notes and template values. Search runs locally and shows up to 100 item results. Within a collection, search and filters work together. If an expected result is missing, clear the search and reset the filters. Text search does not send collection data to a server.
Can I manage tags centrally?
Yes. Discover tags lists the tags used across your collections. After confirmation, rename or remove a tag in all matching items. The items and their other details are retained. Simply opening the overview changes no data.
What is the difference between CSV and JSON?
CSV is a table for analyzing a collection, all items or the wishlist. It contains no photos. Saved market prices are exported per item with currency, price basis, source and timestamps. Full price history belongs in the JSON backup. Use JSON in Settings for a restorable backup with templates and photos. In the installed app, choose a destination or recipient when exporting; Cancel closes the dialog without exporting.
Can I lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID?
On iOS, enable App Lock in Settings when device authentication is configured. Reopening the app asks for Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Canceling leaves the app locked; use Unlock to try again. Turning App Lock off also requires confirmed device authentication. Canceling keeps it enabled.
Can I set reminders for items and collections?
Create local reminders for items and collections: once, daily, weekly or monthly, with an optional note. The installed app needs notification permission; the web version does not deliver reminder notifications. For monthly reminders, choose a day from 1 to 31. Months without that calendar day are skipped. A one-time reminder must still be in the future when saved. Wait for completion; if saving fails, correct the draft and try again.
Can I fill LEGO and Pokémon details from a catalog?
Yes. In LEGO and Pokémon collections, open Search catalog in the item editor. Search by name, set or card number, review the match and fill empty fields. Your own details are not overwritten. For Pokémon, choose a set and German, English or French catalog language. Search the bundled set list locally or enter new sets manually. Catalog lookups need internet access and send the search term, set or catalog identifier and language through CollectorsHub to Rebrickable or TCGdex. Photos and other items are not sent. Source and image-rights notices are linked; catalog images are not saved as your own photos. A barcode scanner is not included.
Can I track market prices and their history?
Choose a price basis for catalog-linked Pokémon items and retrieve prices manually. With Update when opening enabled, a new lookup happens only when opening the item and at least 24 hours after the last successful lookup. No requests run while the app is closed. Cardmarket provides trend prices in EUR and TCGplayer variant prices in USD through TCGdex. Cardmarket foil prices do not distinguish holo from reverse. These are reference values, not individual valuations by condition, language or grading. LEGO market prices are not offered. Only the catalog identifier, catalog language and price basis are sent, not photos or collections. Saved prices remain readable offline. History retains up to 730 price days, at most one value per UTC day; days without lookups remain empty. Changing the price basis starts a new history. Errors do not erase saved values.
How do I open and edit a collectible?
Tap a saved item to open its detail view with its photo, template fields, notes and saved price reference. Open a readable photo at a larger size. Edit opens the form; favorite and reminder actions are directly available. Saving requires a name, a whole-number quantity from 1 to 9,999 and all required details. The optional acquisition date may be in the past and can be cleared. Changes apply only after Save. Opening the detail view changes nothing. Invalid imported dates remain as their original text; an unreadable photo is indicated by a message or template icon.
Can AI find or create a suitable template?
Yes. Under Templates, open Find a template with AI and describe what you collect. The optional assistant needs an enabled AI connection and your consent. Only Suggest template sends the description and standard template catalog to your selected AI provider. Your own templates, collections and photos are not sent. AI recommends an existing default template or drafts up to twelve optional fields. Review the name and fields in the editor; only Save template stores a new draft locally. Cancel discards the unsaved draft. A recommendation does not enable an additional catalog connection.
Can the app use larger iPhone system text?
The iPhone and iPad apps follow the iOS text-size setting, including accessibility sizes. Changes also apply when returning to the app. With large text, form fields and capture options stack vertically and longer labels can wrap. Long collection and item names remain readable or scrollable in the title area. Back and Edit remain accessible. Text-size settings do not change collection data.
When is a change saved locally?
A success confirmation appears only after the collection, item or template has been saved locally. Supported iPhones also provide brief haptic feedback. A write error produces an error message, so the change has not been confirmed as durably saved. Wait for feedback and check your draft before retrying after an error. Local storage is not an additional backup: regularly export important data as JSON.
